Ingredients:
- 1 cup Pitted Medjool Dates, approx. 7 to 9 dates
- 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
- 1/4 cup Almond Butter
- 1 1/2 cups GF rolled oats
- 1/4 cup Goddess Glow Beauty Collagen ®
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup Roasted Almonds, roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup Goji Berries roughly chopped
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
Directions:
1. Place the dates in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the metal blade and process until only small bits remain. It should have a dough-like consistency when done.
2. Place the dates, maple syrup, vanilla and almond butter in a medium bowl, stirring to blend.
3. Add the rolled oats and almonds, mixing well to combine.
4. Add the Goddess Glow Beauty Collagen® and mix well to combine.
5. When blended, add the goji berries, cinnamon, and salt, mixing vigorously to blend completely.
6. Line an 8- x 8-inch baking dish or a casserole with parchment paper or plastic wrap. Spoon the mixture into the prepared dish and use your fingers to press it down to make an even layer.
7. Cover the mixture with plastic wrap and place into the freezer for at least 30 minutes to harden.
8. Once the mixture is very firm to the touch, remove it from the dish and cut into serving-sized portions.
9. Enjoy!
Benefits of Collagen:
Collagen peptides are short chains of amino acids derived from collagen, a structural protein found in skin, bones, cartilage and connective tissue. Lower estrogen levels cause a significant drop in collagen production. Supplementing with collagen can support skin, hair, nails, joint, and bone health during the menopause transition.
Here is a summary of the current research on collagen:
- Skin Health
- Collagen may improve skin elasticity, hydration, and overall appearance.
- Studies suggest supplementation can reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture by stimulating the body’s collagen production and enhancing skin repair.
- Hair and Nail Health
- Collagen peptides can improve hair thickness, nail growth, and reduce brittleness.
- Joint Health
- Supplementing with collagen peptides has been shown to reduce joint pain, improve mobility, and slow cartilage degradation in individuals with osteoarthritis or joint discomfort.
- Bone Health
- Collagen is a component of bone tissue and supplementation may support bone health by improving bone mineral density and reducing bone turnover.
